Toddler Program

The toddler program is designed to meet the particular needs and natural interests of children between the ages of 18 months and 2.5 years. Young children are instinctively motivated to learn from and adapt to their surroundings, absorbing knowledge through sensorial experiences. The toddler classroom offers a rich curriculum fostering independence in movement, communication, and self-care. Activities of purposeful play form the basis of the daily work cycle toward cognitive development, receptive and expressive language development, and the strengthening of fine and gross motor skills. The toddler program includes four core areas:

  • Practical Life (including self-care skills such as toilet learning)
  • Movement
  • Sensorial
  • Language

Music is a part of both the Sensorial and Language areas. Children enjoy two hours daily of free play to improve their gross motor skills, either in the outdoor or indoor playground. Toddlers learn to engage and cooperate with other children as well as continuing to enjoy independent activities in parallel with their peers.
